So, what’s the difference between a shelter and a home? Dictionary.com defines a shelter as: “a building serving as a temporary refuge or residence for abandoned individuals who are homeless.” Conversely, a home can be defined as: “the place in which one's domestic affections are centered.”

Now, which situation would you prefer if you were desperate and homeless? Despite the fact that many animal shelters are chronically overpopulated, most are doing a heroic job providing basic emergency care for the unlucky animals.

Conversely, it’s up to us citizens to provide safe and loving forever homes for our 4-legged friends.
